I only recommend plea bargains if the facts are appropriate. My initial analysis is to determine if there is a solid defense; and if so, I will strongly recommend a trial to try and achieve a "not guilty" verdict. This would obviously avoid any consequence to the charges, whether by way of fine, points on a driving record, or an extended period of probation. If the defense looks weak, I try to negotiate the most painless plea bargain possible, and often am able to achieve the least painful disposition by way of some period of probation, rather than incarceration. I strive in any event to make the whole process as easy as possible for the client to experience.
Drunk Driving cases are handled from beginning
to end, giving the client a realistic picture of what to expect at trial,
and taking steps “up front” to assure the best possible
result before the Court. First time offenders often receive probationary
verdicts without any points on their driving records. If a valid defense
exists, Mr. Epstein will aggressively champion the client’s cause
before the Court. Before the Motor Vehicle Administration, Mr. Epstein
attempts to avoid a license suspension, or to at least achieve “restricted
status” for work and other purposes. He is always striving to
minimize the pain to the client.
Mr. Epstein has been defending all types of criminal
cases for over 25 years, and isn't afraid to try a case before
the court if the prosecutor is not being flexible or offering an attractive
plea bargain. And if the client insists on his innocence, Mr. Epstein
will defend the case, using every aspect of ingenuity at his disposal.
He tries to be creative and aggressive in his representation…and
realizes the serious effect the case will have on the life of the defendant.
The most important thing, of course, is that he
is an attorney that his clients can always reach for advice. He gives
every client his cell phone number, and can be contacted at the office
or while away. That’s often unique in this day and age. For Drunk
